With its unmatchable brightness, stretch and softness, the fibre used by ACCAPI is carefully selected among the wools that exclusively result from the shearing of Merino sheep.
The wool of this breed of sheep is especially appreciated for its fineness (which makes it highly valued) but also, and foremost, for its curled fibre structure that acts as a thermal insulator and protects the animal from both extreme cold and intense heat.
In the summer, the fleece of Merino sheep grows in fine, light and transpiring wool that helps to withstand high temperatures; conversely, the fleece that grows in the winter is longer in order to protect it from the intense cold. Therefore, the products made with this exceptional fibre stand out for an unmatchable thermal endurance, in addition to being extrafine and comfortable.
In accordance with the Green Philosophy of Accapi, the yarns used are certified “mulesing free”: the barbaric technique mentioned, consisting in the removal of flaps of skin from the animal in order to prevent parasite infestations, finds in Accapi a proud opponent , which appeals to respect for the welfare of the sheep and acts in an eco-responsible manner.
